Mike Davis was a phenomenal talent, having
that desired trifecta of looks/personality,
technique/physicality, & an incredible ability to Sell.
Seen here getting beautifully worked over by a
young (stupid-Hawt!) Buzz Sawyer, Mike
started off with his good-guy character who
typically jobbed... in spite of his tremendous
wrestling ability.
Mike was one of the best portrayers of
vulnerability & suffering, rivaling fellow
Tampa-area wrestler Tommy Rogers for
being King of Selling.
That gorgeous 'boy-next-door' babyface getting
viciously worked over was super-hot.
More compelling than a squash match, seeing
Mike battle and have a chance before defeat
made it all the sweeter.
Mike filled out those tights and had the perfect
athletic body--sadly last seen in this
early-1980s era just before 'normal bodies' got
faded out in favor of roided out, over-pumped
musculature in the sport.
Mike won his fair share of matches, too.
He just excelled at being worked-over so much
that it's hard not to promote that quality!
The man performed in a slew of matches in a
career cut too short (dead at age 45.)
Apologies, but I misplaced the info on the other
wrestler in these last two shots, but I couldn't
leave out such perfect depictions of Mike's
fantastic body/expressiveness!
